Step 1

The ideal working temperature is around 77°F.

Best results can be obtained at temperatures between 70°F and 85°F, in a clean, dry, dust-free environment.

Step 2

Measure product 3:1 by volume or 100:28 by weight.

Step 3

The material must be mixed thoroughly for at least 3 minutes.

Use a drill mixer or a stirk stick to thoroughly scrape the sides and bottom of the cup as you mix.

Step 4

If using for vacuum bagging, you can begin to vacuum the resin into the sealed bag. At 77 degrees, with a 500g mass, you should have roughly 95-110 minutes. Larger masses will yield less working time. Ensure the lines are clamped off before vacuum is stopped to ensure no air is added to the part and allow 24 hours to cure before demolding.

Step 5

Smaller parts will require a post cure schedule to ensure maximum hardness. Post cure schedules vary, but range from 120-140 degrees for around 2-4 hours to ensure highest strength and hardness number. Larger pours will not require a post-cure schedule. Cleaning Uncured Epoxy

Tools can be cleaned with Acetone, Denatured Alcohol, or Isopropyl Alcohol.

Use small bucket of solvent to clean tools.

Immediate clean up will provide the best results.

Reviews

  1. Charlie Norris

“I love fiberglass coatings. They have great products and excellent advice. I'm trying to open a boat repair shop in St . Mary's, GA and my supply WILL come from fiberglass coatings. When I lived in the Fl. Keys for 36 years and worked for a towing and salvage Co for 15 years all our supplies came from Fiberglass coatings. Great service and never were disappointed. Keep up the great job everyone.”
  2. Brian Lewis

“The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly Have always gotten the right stuff for the right job. Pat,mark,Colby,Ryan your the best. Pat is the walking encyclopedia of FGCI.”
  3. Justin Lammers

“Been working on a skiff project and using all FGCI products. They came highly recommended by my friends who are boat builders. It is the highest quality resins, glass, and gelcoat for the money. They made it really easy for a newer person to boat building. The customer service is phenomenal and they are always knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions I had.”
