Duratec Hi-Gloss Additive for Gelcoats
Add a high gloss to your Gelcoat
Duratec Hi-Gloss Additive is added to gelcoat in a 3:1 or even a 2:1 mix ratio. MEK-P Catalyst is still used and is recommended for the gelcoat at a 2% mix ratio. The Duratec can change the look of your gelcoat project into a paint project with little effort.
Duratec is also great for thinning your gelcoat to allow it to be sprayed without damaging the gelcoat or the color.
Temperature should be at least 64 degrees, with lower temperatures requiring longer cure times.
Mix Duratec in a 3:1 ratio (75% gelcoat, 25% Duratec) all the way up to a 1:1 ratio, depending on desired gloss.
Catalyze at 2% mix ratio with MEK-P 925
Spray over the repair or the surface at around 8 mils per pass, building up to 12-15 mils before allowing to set for 30 minutes before adding another 12-15 mils.
Allow to cure for 24 hours before sanding or buffing for best results.
This product should not be mixed with Sanding Aid or Wax.
