Fiberglass Mat

Fiberglass Chopped Strand, or Chop, or Fab Mat, or just plain mat is called many things; but the most common of our fiberglass types is something that can work for as many purposes as it has nicknames. Mat is a collection of randomly oriented fibers, kept together with a chemical binder. Fiberglass repair, boat repair, boat building, pool and spa manufacturing and small tooling parts are all very common uses of fiberglass mat. This glass is great for structural use, as it provides a strong reinforcement on all axis, along with a solid flexibility. Mat is used with Vinylester or Polyester resin and isn’t recommended for epoxy resin. It wets out extremely easily and is inexpensive to use.
