Dab on about a 2” dab, roughly the size of a poker chip on your polishing pad for every 20 square feet of surface you are applying. A little goes a long way.
By using a spray bottle, apply a light mist onto the part. The buffing pad captures the compound/polish, and also the water. When the part appears dry, add more water with the spray bottle. As long as a milky liquid appears when the pad captures the water additional polish is not needed.
If using a commercial buffer, 2400 rpm is recommended. Hand wiping will not accomplish the necessary speed. If compounding, use at full speed; if polishing use half speed. Apply even, circular strokes with a light, but firm pressure, adding additional water as needed.
After buffing, wash the surface with soapy water to remove any leftover polish.

  1. Charlie Norris

“I love fiberglass coatings. They have great products and excellent advice. I'm trying to open a boat repair shop in St . Mary's, GA and my supply WILL come from fiberglass coatings. When I lived in the Fl. Keys for 36 years and worked for a towing and salvage Co for 15 years all our supplies came from Fiberglass coatings. Great service and never were disappointed. Keep up the great job everyone.”

“Been working on a skiff project and using all FGCI products. They came highly recommended by my friends who are boat builders. It is the highest quality resins, glass, and gelcoat for the money. They made it really easy for a newer person to boat building. The customer service is phenomenal and they are always knowledgeable and ready to help with any questions I had.”
